Miss Texas to perform in Celebrate Broadway!

Come see the talented Miss Texas 2010 Ashley Melnick perform as Chamberlain Performing Arts opens its 2010 – 2011 season with the original production, Celebrate Broadway! Inspired by some of Broadway’s most memorable music, the production features ballet, jazz and modern interpretations of show favorites, as well as a variety of musical performances. This smashing production comes to North Texas October 2 and 3 in the Bank of America Theatre at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.
The Saturday evening Season Premiere of Celebrate Broadway!will feature a champagne reception and silent auction prior to the curtain, followed by coffee and dessert after the show. Tickets for this event are available for $50. Funds from the Season Premiere fundraiser will be used to support the performance, education and outreach initiatives of Chamberlain Performing Arts.
“We are very excited about our Celebrate Broadway! season opener,” said Kathy Chamberlain, founder and artistic director of Chamberlain Performing Arts. “Think of it as classical ballet with a twist – something fresh and original for the whole family. We’ll feature a range of show tunes from Broadway favorites like West Side Story, Oklahoma, Beauty and the Beast, and many more. By adding the Season Premiere special event, we hope people will feel that this is an occasion when they can come out with friends and enjoy great entertainment and warm hospitality while supporting the art of dance in our community.”
Celebrate Broadway! performance times are as follows:
- Saturday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. This is the Season Premiere and the ticket price of $50 includes the show, a pre-show champagne reception and hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, and post-show dessert and coffee. The performance begins at 8:00 p.m.
- Sunday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for this performance are $20.
